Dear
Friends: Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. I hope
you enjoy learning about the United States Air Force Academy Way of Life Alumni
Group (WOL) and allow us the chance to earn your support as an active member or
supporter.
WOL's
primary focus is to increase the pool of young people whose scholastic aptitude,
character and leadership make them highly competitive for admission to our
nation's finest colleges and universities. WOL places special emphasis on
diversity and appointments to the United States Air Force Academy. WOL also
supports members in transition whether on active duty or to the civilian sector.
Our hope is that our combined experiences and professional network leads to a
wealth of valuable advice and counsel.
Join me
and the rest of the grads and associate members who have decided to put action
behind their words. We mentor cadets via face-to-face sessions during Spring
and Fall Pathfinder Seminars. An immensely popular event is the Annual WOL BBQ
Tailgate (usually a Sep home football game). WOL also has two regular events at
the National Air and Space Museum (Black History Month and the Become a Pilot
spring event).
We have
taken the lead in planning the second Super Reunion. The Inaugural Super
Reunion was OUTSTANDING. African-American graduates from each service academy
gathered together for the first time. Super Reunion II promises to be bigger
and better. Current plans will take us to Walt Disney World in August 2012.
Standby for more details.
WOL is
loaded with potential. We need fresh ideas and of course volunteers. Our work
is serious and incredibly rewarding. Join us and make a
difference.
Sincerely, Richard P.
